1) Tell us about yourself:
I’ve always been more focused on what I’m eating (studied nutrition at the U of M… go gophs) but never really put too much focus on my phsycial activity. Recently I made the decision to practice what I preach as a health and wellness coach and make exercise a consistent part of my routine. I also have challenged myself to change my old ways such as overloading my schedule with social commitments… not always an easy task for this people-pleaser. I’m very proud to say I’ve currently gone 28 days without alcohol, which is a BIG change considering how my old social life revolved around it… happy hours, weekends out, drinks with dinner, you name it. I realize this sounds cheesey, but these changes have allowed me to become the best version of myself. For real though, I’m happier with how I’m spending my time and my anxiety has gone down significantly.
2) What are some of your fitness goals?
Prior to training with Creative Results Fitness, my main workouts included running, tennis and yoga. Now that I’ve started working with Ray, I feel challenged to focus more on strength training. Some of my goals are to grow my baby biceps, increase cardio endurance and stay commited to a weekly training session.
3) Whats your why behind your goals?
Mental health is my biggest ‘why’. Anxiety and depression have been a reality for me over the last several years and I’m working on doing everything I can to take control of my overall well-being: mental, emotional, spiritual and physical. I know it makes a huge difference when I push myself to exercise. CRF holds me accountable by checking in each week to commit to a group training session. It has also improved my self-dicsipline to show up even when I don’t feel like it because I know I need to do this for myself.
4) Why did you choose to work with Creative Results.
Honestly, I started going because Ray was offering group training at a gym that was basically in my backyard — how could I say no to that convencience factor?! I decided to stick with it when I realized how great of a trainer Ray is. He pushes everyone to work past their pre-conceived limits and he doesn’t let me give less than 110% effort. I know that Ray cares about his clients — I’m grateful for his accountability to make sure I follow through on my goals.
5) Whats your favorite 1stPhorm product and why?
Level-1 Caramel Latte. I struggle with getting enough protein in my diet, so Level-1 is a surefire way to start my day with 23 grams of protein (BOOM). I just mix one scoop with cold brew concentrate and water in a blender bottle. It’s the perfect grab-and-go drink for in the morning.
